Confusing Catastrophe

This film in my opinion was overall confusing and lacked a overall plot. The film was directed by Todd Haynes ad features several different actors portraying the singer songwriter Bob Dylan, each actor portrays a different stage of his personal life. Dylan's name is not mentioned once within the whole film. his was one of the only interesting aspects of the film.

The first to appear is Marcus Carl Franklin who portrays the legend in his youth while on the run. He rides the rails partnered with his guitar he strums his way to a new future he only ever dreamed of. Secondly appears Christian Bale who portrays the character named Jack in New York's Greenwich village. This is followed by Heath Ledger who portrays a father and husband. Until it goes downhill and fame goes to his head.

Cate Blachette also portrays on Dylan, she was the most interesting and watchable of the group. She portrays a struggle within the life of Bob Dylan. This choice was an interesting twist within the film, it is all in black ad white. She gives a convincing ad interesting performance within the film. Overall in my opinion she saved the plot.

Overall I did not like this film I found it hard to follow due to the multiple plot lines all being intertwined with one another. At least the director tried.
