As Christmas movies go, this is not the first that comes to mind! However, this clever homage to B movies is a brilliant warning that pets should not be given at Christmas. With his tongue firmly in cheek, the Director, Joe Dante, serves up turkey and chaos as the cute Mogwai spawns creatures that are disgusting, dangerous and a real hoot!

The puppeteering may be creaky by the standards of 2018, but given there is no CGI in sight, the set pieces are a testament to the hard work and vision of the crew who worked on this!

A great, twisted yule tide alternative!
