The King's Speech (2010)

So before I start the film review I would like to say my review of captain Marvel was only short because for some unknown reason half of it was cut off!

So, the film folllows king George IV as he has a stutter and really struggles to speak so he finds the help of a speech therapist named Lionel. The film climaxes as he makes his first wartime speech with Lionel at his side.

Overall the film was very good and with a little tinkering it could of earned another star but I just didn’t like how the storyline worked as I think it would been much better if it was one of those films that start of at the climax and then go back to the start. Colin ‘Carrot’ Firth (as we call him) was excellent and matched a description of what he would look and sound like in your mind perfectly although it is just a shame everyone else was so bad. Also I am still not sure why there were a bunch of actors from Harry Potter I think that is just a coincidence. Anyway Helena Bonham Carter was rubbish because she just seemed really dark and just generally a douche at all times which I don’t think the producers were going for.

So the camera, colour sound were all ok but could have been much better for example why oh why oh why was classical music EVERYWHERE like not just in the palace and royal locations plush literlly everywhere and I felt like I was watching Downtown Abbey. I understood why they chose music (and silence) when they did but most of it is completely unnecessary.

Colin the carrot was good as the character but the character didn’t really develop much. He literally just got better at speaking. And I am just cringing at how bad the supporting actors are anyway so yeah. This film could have just been so much better. Colin is the only reason this got 2 stars so welll done Colin the carrot.
