Based on a true story about a dog who waited nine years for his master to return. It is a heart breaking tale about Ronnie's grandfather and his relationship with Hachi. Ronnie tells the story for a presentation about their personal heoro's. despite his class mates sniggering at him. He tells the tale of how hachiko (hatchi for short) was found abandoned at a train station and the remarkable bond Parker and hatchi have together. Hatchi is a called a Japenise Akita, he is very loyal to Ronnie's grandfather Parker and learns the times he finishes work and waits at the train station to greet his master.

Parker suddenly takes bad whilst at work and never returns home on the train. Hachi waits at his usual spot as the train pulls up and he doesnt see his master getting off so he waits patiently for hours and hours. Parkers wife sells the house and moves away she gives the dog to her daughter and young son Ronnie. Hatchi returns to the station every day waiting for Parker top come home, but he never does.

This movie had the whole class in tears including Mrs Baxter and Mrs Moore
