Heartbreaking - But that's the point. (Content warning for physical abuse).

I could not physically look at the screen in one scene because of the emotional point the film had built up to. This film doesn't hold back on showing the brutal abuse Tonya suffered and portrays the abusers not just as walking pieces of evil, but real people who cared for Tonya - and abused her anyway. Margot Robbie is excellent in this film, especially towards the end. The skating is stunning and really sells Tonya's talent. This movie, while having funny moments littered throughout, is ultimately very sad and heartbreaking - but that's the point. This is Tonya's side of the story, which isn't pleasant or for the faint of heart.
