A Fistful Of Dollars (1964)

The Setting of this film shows a typical outlaw type take on what can only be assumed to take place around 1879-1899, the well known descent of outlaws and rise of civilisation spreading from the east, this film tends to ignore the more harsh consequences of an outlaw life in order to deliver the comical and initially expected take on Western America, and Mexico, whilst still including typical well known characteristics and actions of an outlaw, including bounty hunting which at the time was nothing more than an optional job regardless of moral standing, which we get to see in action, appealing both to the audience and the well known and flexible lore of the outlaw era. Clint Eastwood's Character being the main protagonist, spends most of the film as a mysterious character, the same way the locals of the town understand little of his personality or origins, so do we, this plays an enormous factor in the story, adding constant suspense and question of morality. In this film the use of close up shots was utilised mostly used to capture the facial expressions of the main protagonist as well as a select few characters , to once again build suspense in the moment, as seen before the shootout in the trailer, and also to show their fear towards the protagonist, which continues to solidify an image in the audiences head that he is someone of great power. Id recommend this to someone who enjoys Westerns, or enjoys tales or games resembling the Outlaw Era.
