Gwen is beautifully filmed piece of motion picture that is haunting, thrilling and mysterious all at the same time.
The film follows a Welsh Family in a 19 century setting, and the detail that this film gives off, it definitely shows that, the costumes are on point, and the aesthetic of the film is brilliant. The actors give off their best performances they can, the emotions on their faces show a lot of distraught, but the film isn't just about being scared, it is also about family, the mother at one point shows her affection to her daughters saying something along the lines of "I'll never let anyone hurt you" which is what mothers and fathers should do, protect their child, it's what I'm going to do if I have any of my own in the future. it's filmed brilliantly, the atmospheric look makes our home of Wales look phenomenal, and the music is haunting, just like the films tone.
Overall a very good film, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes dark films that are expertly crafted.
