This film is set in Taliban-occupied Afghanistan where a young girl called Parvana provides food for her family while simultaneously devising a plan to rescue Nurullah, her father. While the film explores the darkest parts of the Taliban regime it has some moments that are to dark to be a children's film and sometimes too jokey to be a adults film. I also thought the scenes of sexism too brutal and depressing, the animation skills
were great and the switch between Parvana's story and then real life is quite thrilling.
