While I understand how the ending could be viewed as underwhelming or disappointing due to it’s following horror cliches in an otherwise original and primarily drama driven story, beside only one aspect its following of cliches didn’t bother me as I felt like it built up and flowed naturally to that part of the story and I struggle to think of another way that the film could have been satisfyingly concluded. I also don’t see following cliches as necessarily a bad thing as long as it is well executed and doesn’t discard the themes set up previously in order to follow those cliches. I found this to be one of the most effective horror/drama movies I've seen in a while and I’m sure it will stay with me almost as much as Climax by Gaspar Noé has.
