Best family friendly musical of 2017

0 stars

11 Nov 2020

When the Greatest Showman film reached the screen it spent 219 days in release, closing on July 26th in 2018. This film was a musical block buster which dazzled many family's over the world.

Likes/dislikes:

I liked how it showed how many people are different and that just because they are different that shouldn't change the way they are treated. I disliked the fact that P.T. Barnum/Hugh Jackman used them for a circus.

What I will remember:

I will remember all of this movie because it inspired me and probably many others to be our selves, by expressing who they are through song, dance and just visually being seen. P.T. Barnum made them more confidant whilst making money.

My comparison:

I think that I would compare this movie to Mama Mia and Annie because they have something in common, they are all musicals.

Interesting features:

1) Zendaya did all of her own trapeze stunts for the film!

2) The original Barnum & Bailey Circus ran for 146 years in real life.

3) The singer Jenny Lind was a real person.

4) Many of the costumes worn by the circus cast came from the real Barnum Circus!

Awards:

The film got very bad reviews from film critics but went on to win many awards, which just shows that you must experience something for your self instead of listening to others as we all have many different opinions.

Summary:

Growing up in 1800s P.T. Barnum displays a natural talent for publicity and promotion, selling lottery tickets. After trying various jobs, P.T. turns to show business to promote and explore his limitless imagination, rising from nothing to create the Barnum & Bailey circus. Featuring catchy songs, amazing performers and daring acrobatic stunts, Barnum's circus soon takes the world by surprise to become the greatest show on Earth.

What I thought about this film:

I thought that it was a spectacular movie based on real life, I thought the songs were catchy, the stunts were amazing and the action and acting was outstanding. I would also love to see a love action version of this.
