I worked on this review with my Film Club friend Samuel because our group leader wanted us to work in pairs during the lockdown. We met on zoom to discuss and these are the notes I made after.
This fun adventure family comedy is based on a children's book, although there are few similarities. We loved this movie cause it is a because it is a comedy and everyone loves a bit of a laugh! This show really makes a dull book come to life. We would describe it as hilarious, slapstick comedy
In this movie the main character is Alexander who is always having bad days which is quite annoying for him and upsetting for us to watch. On the other hand all of his family seem to normally have a great life but later everything goes wrong for his family instead, in a very comic way. Some of our favourite parts were when the baby gets covered in permanent marker, where the dad sets himself on fire at a restaurant and they get home to a crocodile in the doorway! :O
We both agree we would have liked more funny scenes, but still, it was an amazing, bright, colourful, fun film.
It was hilarious, but you might think it is a bit slow and upsetting at first, but it got a LOT more funny and exciting when the whole everyone has a bad day! I love this movie and would recommend it for the whole family.

Fantastic special effects in this comedy caper following four quarter-inch children, shrunk by their bungling father as they try to escape the garden!
