Less scary as it went along

The Spiderwick Chronicles is a film about a man called Spiderwick, the creator of a journal who discovered mythical creatures but ended up having to protect his daughter from the evil ones. The father decided to hide the journal in the house so it could not be found by others.

When a new family moved into the house, one of the boys found the journal, and when he read it, it unleashed monsters. They had to keep the journal safe and find a way to get rid of monsters.

I thought the main characters were great, and Jared was my favourite because he was an angry kid.

And my favourite character in the movie was Hogsquel because he was funny, and he enjoyed eating birds which made me laugh.

I liked the setting of the film; it was very spooky with lots of woodlands. The atmosphere was dark, mysterious, and a little scary; by the middle of the film it was bright and sunny, and by the end of the film, it was very tomato saucy.

I don't remember hearing much of the music.

There was nothing in the film I didn't enjoy. I felt the movie had frightening parts, but it was very entertaining and became less scary as it went along.

I would rate this film FIVE out of FIVE.
