By far spielbergs best film, and his most engaging and affecting. However spielberg does not quite manage to capture the holocaust in a way that manages to tell the audience anything. Scene after scene of violent murders, by the end he has almost desensitised you. Comparing it to the russian masterpiece Come and See, schindler's list feels like a marvel movie. The acting is passable, but never scans the emotional depths required for a film based on such an event, and the score manages to make the whole film feel like a melodrama. However simply telling a story like this, with such a degree of humanity and passion imbued, makes it a noble feat.
