County Lines (2019)

This film portrayed children running county lines in the UK perfectly. The repeat of “acceptable loss” by the specialist woman showed me the audience how no one cared for this boy and that his well being isn’t a priority. There was nothing in particular about the male protagonist that stood out to me except his sudden character change, going from a caring and picked on boy to a drug runner who scares his family. The aggression featured in this film wasn’t the most shocking part but the accurate portrayal of how a young boy living with a lack of money can so easily change into a dangerous drug runner did. Although the boy was aggressive to his family I couldn’t help but feel for him as he was so naive to be dragged into this dangerous world and then wouldn’t admit what he had done when everything went wrong. County lines was an accurate and in my opinion a heartfelt representation of how children are affected by drugs. I recommend this film to anyone of any age who is interested in knowing about drugs in the UK and the consequences of not thinking behaviour through.
