Knives In

This is a murder- mystery / comedy film about a family , the Thrombeys . The patriarch of the family , Harlan Thrombey, is murdered on his 85th birthday. A detective called Benoit Blanc is hired to solve the case .

The setting of Knives Out is reminiscent of the mansion from ‘Clue’ which portrays Knives Out like a typical murder mystery. The mansion is often surrounded by fog seemingly shrouded in mystery and the the truth is incomplete. This makes the viewer question what has happened and creates tension

The Camera is used to show power, relation and truth . This is because when Benoit Blanc asked a question he moves forward representing a step closer to the truth . Relation is Show during the interrogation When Harlan’s son-in-law and daughter-in-law aren’t directly in the centre of the frame showing they aren’t directly related to the family.

In Conclusion I would recommend this movie to any one who loves a murder mystery as this movie keeps you guessing with plot twists and red herrings
