In this thrilling fantasy film, directed by Tim Burton, we are introduced to the main character Jacob, played by Asa Butterfield, a teen who was incredibly close to his grandfather growing up. His grandfather tells him stories of magical children, and Jacob believes every word of it. However when he is made fun of at school for believing such foolish tales, he quickly loses faith. After the mysterious death of his grandfather, he travels to Wales in search of answers. There he finds the home for peculiar children, run by Miss Peregrine, portrayed by Eva Green. With mysterious occurrences happening all around Jacob, him and the peculiar children must fight to survive the threats coming after them. The acting in this film was incredible, with many popular well known actors, such as Asa Butterfield, Eva Green, Samuel L. Jackson and Judi Dench, as well as many other talented people, you were able to really put yourself into the character's shoes and see what they were feeling. Tim Burton did a great job directing and if you are a fan of his other works then I think this would a great film to watch next. This is a good film to watch with family as though there are some scary bits that could be too much for younger viewers it is entertaining for all ages. The sets for the film are incredibly well done, from the mansion run by Miss Peregrine to the ship, and all the other scenes that I shall not spoil for those of you who are yet to watch this movie.
