Jojo rabbit: Truly Tragic Comedy

5 stars

23 Mar 2023

Plot summary: Johannes "Jojo" is a 10 year old boy with an imaginary friend called Hitler, and his father is away to WW2, so he only has his mother. He then discovers a Jewish girl living in his home.

I thought the film was absolutely brilliant: the characters are interesting and likeable, and the humour is top notch: but it's serious when it needs to be, and it's very good at keeping the tone of certain scenes consistent with the help of the fantastic soundtrack and acting. The character development is brilliant such as the part where Jojo kicks Hitler out a window: it was hilarious!
