FILM REVIEW
Film title: Looper (2012)
Introduction:
It is a sci-fi film and is set out to achieve a teleportation effect in the story. People might be interested because it looks cool and interesting. Interesting because the scenery is very graphic and different, and the story is very detailed. The setting is dystopian and full of slums and gangs with a futuristic start to the film however the end of the film goes into an old look in a farm filled with corn.
Snappy Synopsis:
In Looper there is a lot of sci-fi action with a face paced story and many good characters. It's based in the future and the past, switching through time to see until the day his bosses decide to "close the loop" and send Joes future self (Bruce Willis) back in time to be killed by the main character.
The good, the bad and the ugly:
The characters were quite annoying and the child got irritating, however they performed the story well and the child was actually a good actor for his age, he seemed quite scary and created a good act. The colour was one of the best parts as from the start till the finish there were good colours and was very vibrant. The camera quality was probably the best part of the entire film, it was an amazing quality and the camera angles were perfect cut with perfect zoom ins.
The story was well presented and well put together however it was quite confusing and had lots going on at the same time, it was very fast paced and rushed however it was a good story with some happy, sad and funny parts. The setting had quite a weird setting and kept changing place rapidly from in dark places, to corn fields shooting a man in the loop. The sound was good however it needed more music and more cinematics of the scenery as it was a good setting and needed more visuals of the area of each scene. I liked the main character because he was funny and made the story seem more realistic.
Paragraph 3 - Evaluation
I enjoyed the film. I believe the storyline was good because of how it was set out. However it was too fast paced for my liking and I lost track of what was happening at some points. If this film was an icecream flavour it would have to be liquorice because it doesn't seem right, and is weird. I didn't like the voices as they spoke too slowly. I would give this film a 4 star because it wasn't my favourite film ever but it certainly wasn't my most favourite, and I certainly would watch again as I enjoyed it. I really liked the camera quality and setting of this film and it was all well made. The sounds were kept simple but were still put together perfectly and all well cut into all the scenery and qualities of the film. I would definitely recommend it to anyone reading or even a family member or friend.
