I'm afraid that I didn't watch this movie to prepare for this review, but I have watched it when I was younger. Looking back, I liked it, I felt satisfied with what I saw but now that I dwell further, it wasn't like the original Nativity.
Now, this has what I call: The Home Alone Effect. Don't bother googling it, I made it up. What I mean is that you have one good initial film that doesn't really need to be a franchise, and then the studio thinks: "OK, this did well. It made a few million and people liked it. So let's do another!" Then you get the next movie it usually has the original film's title followed by a 2 and a subtitle; it isn't always bad, but it definitely doesn't hit like the first film. And then they think: "OK, this did well, can we make a third one out of this?" And guess what they do? They make it a hexalogy.
You see what I mean?
I feel that home alone is a good analogy to how I feel about this film. But I feel confident in saying that I rate this a 4/5.
On the Danger in the Manger, I feel it convays a message that it's about some sort of miscarriage or something related to that; a baby does get involved but it's not like what it implies. From my recolection, it's more of an odyssey or long journey.
