Arrival isn't what I thought it would be...

So umm, I guess this is a two part of Denis Villeneuve's movies and I know this is the same guy who directed Dune. So I kinda like disaster movies for some reason and when I first saw the poster of it, I was like : "Hey this looks like aliens attacking Earth, let's watch it because why not!" So I did and as this title says "Isn't what I thought it would be...".

So yeah let's get this review started and without any more taking let's get over (I'm taking an easy for this, so that's why I'm not too critical on this):

Review: The big thing that is the biggest positive for me is the animation, it is amazing. Its so well animated, particular on the big fly ship (if that's supposed to be because its trying to be mysterious as the movie is going for and I dig it). Its so well detailed and the editing is also amazing. Its very carefully edited perfectly! I didn't realised there is a behind the scenes of how they uses to make the sounds of the aliens.

Now as the movie story itself, its not your generic alien, hostile, take over movie. After watching this my parents told me that the take away and theme of this movie is time. Its about how you wouldn't enjoy life as much from your past. Any science fiction medias done right can relate an generation with the themes of it. Its very well tightly written of time.

Final Thoughts: So yeah, I like Arrival but I wouldn't say I love it because I don't know I'm not the biggest guy on Villeneuve's writing style, its a bit too slow for my taste and the pacing too. The first opening has girl saying "I hate you" makes me laugh in the wrong way and its not intention here. I do feel like its a bit too dialogue heavy for me, I don't know maybe I'll love it in my later 20s or 30s. I know this is all for a sudden making a bad movie but I really do enjoy this movie and I would recommended to check it out.

So that's everything I got to say!
