'Some Like Hot' is a comedy classic directed by Billy Wilder. Tony Curtis (Joe) and Jack Lemmon (Jerry) are able to present 'Daphne' and 'Josephine' with a comedic tone, however, along with the brilliant direction from Billy Wilder they are able to present the deep ideas of gender roles ad the mistreatment that women experienced and still experience on a day to day basis now. The best example of this is the complicated dynamic of Osgood and Jerry (Daphne's) relationship. There are many examples of jokes that would be frowned upon in modern society however in the film they were hidden between the amazing comedic abilities of Jack Lemmon as Daphne. These uncomfortable topics are brushed under the rug, being replaced with laughter. The desires of Marilyn Monroe as 'Sugar' perfectly displays the American Dream which was all people wanted at the time, due to societal pressures to live a traditional life. This translates into her desperate and almost saddening need to be with a rich man. She feels that all that all she will be good for is to be the wife of a wealthy man who will likely be away working most of the time.

To conclude, the film was a fun and light-hearted comedy with some deeper elements that left me asking questions even after finishing watching.
