Guardians of the Future - a unique filmmaking project capturing and promoting the rising influence of youth voice, launched on 13 February 2020.

Into Film puts film at the heart of children and young people's educational, cultural and personal development. We engage directly with 1 million young people aged 5-19 each year and over 5 million via our digital channels, and enjoy unparalleled support from the UK film industry. We run the world's largest youth film festival and the premier film awards ceremony for young people. Into Film's filmmaking methodology develops skills, confidence and aspiration, empowering young participants to tell their own stories and actively play their part in creating a better future.

I suspect we are right now at the beginning of a big change. Young people are the stimulus bringing that about. The most encouraging thing I see of course is that the electorate of tomorrow are making their voices very, very clear. It is their future in our hands.

Sir David Attenborough, UK Parliament, 2019

Inspired by Sir David Attenborough, and capturing the student activist movement galvanised by Greta Thunberg, Into Film has created a unique filmmaking project, by and for, The Guardians of the Future.

The project was launched by environmentalists and filmmakers Jack Harries and Alice Aedy, actor Bill Nighy and student climate change activists at an event at CNBC TV Studios on 13 February.

CNBC presenter Tania Bryer hosted the event and our special guests from the world of TV and film discussed the importance of sustainability to business, and how empowering young people to create and share content can be a powerful way reach new audiences.
Guardians of the Future will:

  • Give young influencers and future leaders a unique platform
  • Amplify a company's existing sustainability vision, activity and commitment, mapped to the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals
  • Produce powerful, influential stories, capturing the dynamism of youth voice to share across your channels.

If you would like to discuss how your brand could partner with this project to create your own powerful short filmed content to amplify your business's commitment to climate change action and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals through youth voice, please contact Leigh Thomas, Director of Business Development, at leigh.thomas@intofilm.org.

No one is too small to make a difference.
