New to Order on DVD

The Secret Life of Pets 2

The second film in The Secret Life of Pets franchise reunites us with Jack Russell terrier Max, his family and the cast of pets that live in his apartment building. When Max's owner has a baby, Max becomes too overprotective of the new arrival whilst his friends back in the city, a Pomeranian named Gidget and a rabbit called Snowball, have their own wacky adventures. The Secret Life of Pets 2 is charming animated fun that intertwines lessons on growing up and responsibility with slapstick humour and very cute animals.

Okko's Inn; X-Men: Dark Phoenix

For educators and film club leaders who have seen a lot of success in the classroom with Japanese animation, Okko's Inn skews more towards younger audiences but provides an entertaining slice-of-life story about a young girl who, after being orphaned, discovers that her grandmothers remote Inn harbours a colourful cast of ghosts and spirits.

Lastly, the final entry into the X-Men franchise, in its current form, is released onto DVD with Dark Phoenix, a story of making difficult choices and female empowerment, as one of the X-Men team becomes infected with a dangerous alien force.
