Get the chance to win an exclusive printed pack for your club or classroom, containing:

  • Team Roman vs. Team Celt paddles double-sided so your students can answer quick Roman vs. Celt quiz questions, and to help them pledge their allegiance to their team in class activities
  • Classroom poster to showcase Team Roman vs. Team Celt team members
  • Leaflets for our upcoming design competition
  • Team Roman and Team Celt stickers to reward and incentivise students

Focusing on history curriculum topic The Roman Empire and its Impact on Britain, and including English literature and music links as well as exclusive song and video clips from the film the resource will see students aged 7-11 will explore this significant historical period, with activities including a local history study and Romans vs. Celts class debates.

Students will also create their own Horrible Histories-style song or poem to take part in a ‘Battle of the Bands' and can extend their learning by filming it too - after all, it wouldn't be Horrible Histories without a hilarious song or two!

Even better, with a summer release, why not perform the songs or dance routines to get people excited for a Team Roman vs. Team Celt sports day spectacular? Or celebrate World Music Day on 21 June with a school performance?

To round it all off, students can enter our Horrible Histories: The Movie - Rotten Romans competition, which will see them design a family coin with copies of the Horrible Histories: The Movie - Rotten Romans Handbook and bound issues of the Rotten Romans and Cut-Throat Celts books to be won! The deadline is 1 July.

About this film

Atti is a Roman teenager with ‘Atti-tude’, a smart kid who likes to bend the rules. When one of his schemes (selling horse wee as gladiator sweat) falls foul of Emperor Nero, Atti is forced to join the army and is sent to miserable, cold, wet Britannia. There the natives are revolting, quite literally, as Boudicca, Queen of the Iceni tribe, takes on the might of Rome.
