We understand that not all film clubs are alike, and that every student or club member has different educational needs and requirements. As such, we always try to ensure that we also cater for SEN clubs and for those with additional support needs (ASN) and disabilities.
Film can be an effective tool for helping those with SEN and ASN to better understand, not only curriculum-linked and academic topics, but also the wider world around them. Reviewing films, whether in writing, orally or even through pictures and symbols, is often cited by club leaders as a particularly strong means of engaging SEN/ASN members and of developing confidence in sharing their thoughts and feelings.
Our collection of SEN-focused resources and related content below can help you to ensure that the power of film reaches all young people, regardless of ability or requirement.
