WHAT: Into Film is proud to present a free educational screening of Wall-E as part of the Spring Screenings: Changing Times programme. At a time of remarkable change around attitudes towards the environment, technology, politics, and identity, particularly for young people, this film will open up discussion around some of these themes, utilising the remarkable power of cinema to deepen learning as well as provoke conversation and debate. The screening will be preceded by a short compilation of archive film on the theme, special schools' edit provided by Yorkshire Film Archive.

This is an autism friendly screening and some tickets may be set aside for young people with Special Educational Needs. As there is unreserved seating and the screen will not be booked to full capacity, guests can sit where they like and are also permitted to change seats at any time during the film to wherever they feel most comfortable. The sound level will be reduced and monitored throughout so that it is kept at an appropriate level. the house lights will be on but dimmed. There will be a short film before the feature which has passed the Harding Test. If subtitles for the film are available they will be played.

Film title

One of the most entertaining and lovable movies for children and young people to have come out in years, Wall-E tells the story of a small, rather hopeless looking robot who is left alone on Earth to clean up the mess we humans have made of the planet. Getting on with his routines day after day, we get to know him and his curious personality at the same time as he carries out his lonely task - until, that is, he meets Eve, another robot sent to Earth, who opens Wall-E's eyes to a whole new kind of life...
