Overview of film.

Simon is an ordinary schoolboy, with a close family and tight group of friends. He knows he is gay but is struggling to come out of the closet. When one of his peers, ‘Blue', posts online saying the same thing, Simon reaches out to him and the two quickly develop a close bond, whilst keeping their real identities a secret from one another. As Simon is increasingly falling for the boy he is corresponding with, a classmate discovers their emails and threatens to out him. Adapted from a popular YA novel, this is a heartfelt, gently groundbreaking film, combining a compassionate, empathetic tone with a warm, easy humour. It both interrogates the process of coming out and positions itself as a proudly mainstream high-school rom-com in the classic tradition.

Gwybodaeth am y ffilm

Bachgen ysgol arferol yw Simon, gyda theulu agos a ffrinidau da. Mae'n gwybod ei fod yn hoyw ond mae'n ei gweld hi'n anodd rhannu hyn ag eraill. Pan mae ffrind iddo, Blue, yn rhannu hyn am eu hunain arlein, mae Simon yn cysylltu â nhw a mae'n nhw'n dod yn ffrindiau, er yn cadw pwy ydyn nhw a gwybodaeth bersonol yn gyfrinach. Mae Simon yn dechrau cwympo am y bachgen y mae'n cyfathrebu a chysylltu gyda arlein, ond pan mae disybl arall yn dod o hyd i'w negeseuon mae'n nhw'n poeni y bydd pawb yn dod i wybod am eu sgyrsiau.

Addasiad o'r nofel boblogaidd, mae'r ffilm hon yn cyfuno hiwmor ac empathi yn effeithiol. Mae'n trin a thrafod themau dwys mewn dull ysgafn.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis via school/college teacher or lecturer booking.

Gweithredir polisi cyntaf i'r felin. Rhaid i athro neu ddarlithydd archebu llefydd.
