After RJ the raccoon accidentally destroys a pile of food belonging to a bear named Vincent, he is tasked with replacing it within one week… or else! The next morning a group of woodland animals consisting of a skunk, a squirrel, a family of porcupines, an opossum father-and-daughter, and their turtle leader, Verne awaken from their hibernation on the first day of spring. They are shocked to discover that much of the forest they live in has been turned into a housing development, and the little which remains is separated by a giant hedge. As they wonder how they will forage food, RJ appears and encourages all the animals to cut through the hedge and steal food from the humans. But RJ is secretly hoping to take the food they gather for himself as part of his payment to Vincent.
