Synopsis

The ridiculous things we do for love are explored in this smart relationship comedy. Deliciously scripted and convincingly performed, it amusingly demonstrates that romance can be tough, whatever your age or experience. Central to events is 40-something square Cal, who is devastated when his wife files for divorce. Thrust back into the singles scene, Cal’s useless with the ladies, until handsome young player, Jacob, helps out by teaching him his seduction tricks. But just as Cal starts getting dates again, his 13-year-old son, Robbie, suffers his own crisis: falling for his babysitter who's only got eyes for, shock horror, his remodelled dad! What’s more, even the conquest-a-night Jacob's suddenly on wobbly emotional ground, as he finally meets a girl who seems immune to his charms.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
