Inspired by his own childhood, director Sanjay Patel makes his directorial debut with this short film for Pixar, having previously worked on a number of their feature films. It sees a young boy (Sanjay) and his father grow increasingly frustrated with each other; Sanjay just wants to watch his favourite television show, Super Team, while his father attempts to meditate. Sanjay’s father soon turns off the TV, takes away Sanjay’s beloved action figure and makes him pray. However, after a strange incident, Sanjay is transported to a temple where his action figures have been transformed into Hindu Gods, which sees Vishnu, Durga and Hanuman do battle with antagonist Ravana. PLEASE NOTE: Sanjay’s Super Team is available to watch as a bonus feature on The Good Dinosaur DVD.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
