Synopsis

When her mother goes missing while on holiday in Colombia with her new boyfriend, teenager June begins searching for answers online. Unable to get information from local and international authorities, she gathers a range of digital technologies to figure out where her mother might be. Set entirely on a computer screen, this thriller follows June’s every move as she digs deeper into the mystery, uncovering difficult truths about her mother and those around her. Missing is a suspenseful addition to a recent surge in cinematic stories told within the online world of our screens and raises questions about the consequences of the plethora of information we share online.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
