Synopsis

The Story of M.I.N.D. explores the friendships and creative journey of teenage hip-hop/punk band M.I.N.D. Rapper/vocalist Mazin, keyboardist Wolf and drummer Oscar met and became friends in kindergarten while attending Alpha Alternative Junior School, where they were encouraged to explore creativity from a fresh perspective. They form the hip-hop/punk trio M.I.N.D. in 2015, and begin writing, performing and recording music. In fall 2019, the band enters one of Toronto's largest Battle of the Bands competitions, but will they have what it takes to outshine 100 other bands twice their age and experience? Or will a sudden shift in society halt their progress? This inspirational documentary takes an honest and intimate approach to young people creating art and showcases the importance and nuance of live music and performance.
