Based on Irish author Frank McCourt's autobiography, this both hilarious and tragic film deals with him growing up in a very poor family...

Angela's Ashes is the moving film based on the book of the same name by Frank McCourt. It tells the true tale of his childhood in 1930's Ireland, portraying the poverty and hardship that he grew up surrounded by. Although serious and even depressing at some points, the film remained humorous with the joys and jokes of his family life. The casting was exceptional, especially in the case of the child actors, making the story come to life. Although a good film, I found the ending disappointing but I wont spoil it for you!
