A Bollywood version of Romeo and Juliet, this film sees a couple banned from seeing each other by their fathers, who are sworn enemies.

Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is a Bollywood Romance about the love between Raj and Rashmi. However they come from rival families and when their parents learn of their love for each other they are furious but Raj and Rashmi will not separate. The film climaxes on the hill by the road out of Delhi. The plot of this film is very similar to that of Romeo and Juliet and even though it is modern the people are still in the same situations. I thought the acting in this film was very bad and there were several scenes of singing and dancing that were so cliché and obviously dubbed that they made the film so much worse. Also the film had an incredibly repetitive soundtrack that was used a lot more than it needed to be and because of its overuse it lost all effect and just became incredibly annoying. Obviously my dislike for this film could come from a cultural difference but still I think this film is completely two dimensional and shallow. I also think that two and a half hours for a film of this quality is at least an hour too long and towards the end you just stop caring about the film and want it to end. The reason I chose to give this film two instead of one or zero stars is because although this film is bad in general, there are some moving scenes. If you like Bollywood films then maybe you would like this but overall I thought this film was not great.
