Exciting, suspenseful, and intriguing in good measure, 'Prometheus' is another excellent example of Ridley Scott asserting himself as one of Britain's leading filmmakers: the film's scientific pre-'Alien' mythology helps to draw the audience into the consistently mysterious atmosphere surrounding the narrative, and even when the dialogue is somewhat cliched and the character development feels average in comparison to the fine leading performances from Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, and in particular a mesmerisingly sinister Michael Fassbender as now-iconic andriod David 8, 'Prometheus' stands tall through its adrenaline-fuelled action-horror sequences enhanced by stunning spaceship-and-planet art direction, absorbing visual effects, and depthful 3D cinematography.
