I have just watched this film after hearing very good comments and reviews about it from family and friends, and i'm very glad they told me about it. this is an excellent film with a plot line like no other. In my opinion, most modern horror films or thrillers are all alike and have no real story line or point to them. Except for this one, when i first heard about it, it immediately stood out, i knew it was something different, not like any modern film. Black swan portrays a young woman who is very talented in the art of dance and works as a ballerina. We follow Nina (Natalie Portman) through the film, who like all the other young women in the ballerina class. is trying to get the star role in a new play called swan lake. At first it seems unlikely she is going to get the role but when she does she overworks herself, determined to be perfect. she experiences many hallucinations through the film and as the film goes on its hard to tell whats real and what is Nina's imagination. the ending is amazing and really does the film the justice it deserves. Through out the film Nina struggles to perform as the black swan correctly, however she performs the white swan perfectly. from the start of the film to the end of the film we watch Nina, and we see her change from this innocent woman, the white swan to a darker woman like the black swan. As the film goes on Nina tries her hardest to be perfect. We see her lose her mind slowly. I think the film is very symbolic, and well worth a watch. The film gives a new twist to an old story, I would recommend this film to any one who loves horror films or thrillers. Or anyone who just wants to watch something new and fresh.
