The bully is film that approaches the subject of chain bullying and the way if someone is bullied they are then more likely to bully other people. The story follows a stereotypical overweight child and therefor the target of the school bully. Before the unexpected death of the bully Jonathan Turner, gets into a fight due to his father’s advice and gets the bully suspended. In a fit of anger the bully then returns to john’s house and threatens to kill him. His father then goes out to talk to him and accidently kills the bully. The rest of john’s life spirals out of control and his dad forces as story of how john killed the bully; not him… The storyline is good but it doesn’t extend to very much. It allows for the viewer to see all aspects of a bullying chain but it isn’t a film you would watch outside of school at some times. The characters fit the storyline and they fit the roles; even though they may surprise as. This really comes up under the bullying side of the story and is most shown at the end where John takes a turn in character where the bullying is passed on to him. I won’t give any more away. I enjoyed (well not enjoyed but I thought it was very good); the movie as it showed the harsh reality of the problems that existed in many schools today and portrayed what happens when a small incident can explode into a series issue that affects everyone involved. I gave it four stars for the good acting and the shots that really emphasised the point. It also received a star for its way in which it still kept the film quit educational yet also made it interesting and good to watch. Personally I don’t really like educational film a but this one was actually quite good. Overall it was a film I would recommend you watch but not if you want a block buster.
