Gently observed, poignantly bittersweet indie coming-of-age drama.

Directed by David Robert Mitchell and starying 'up and coming' actors Claire Sloma, Marlon Morton, Amanda Bauer, the film 'The Myth of the American Sleepover' is set over a single, clammy evening in the leafy suburbs of Detroit. It is not your typical coming of age drama, and is instead brutally honest and something that a large majority of teenagers can connect to. However, I found this film really disapointing. It was slow-paced, very confusing and frankly I found the majority of the actors very annoying. What I did take from the film is that American sleepovers are not all ' pigtails and pillow-fights'.
