Who is Calamity Jane? What does she do? Why is she so important? Well, I am about to tell you about one of the best movies ever!

This film is set a long way back, to the Wild West, when there were no phones or computers, or I pads! A young women named Calamity Jane (Doris day) rides into deadwood, South Dakota as a messenger on the stage coach. The local bar always sends for beautiful women to come and entertain the crowd of men which come and see the women perform every time (there are not many women town). Unfortunately, the latest performer disappointed many , actually all the men after finding out that ‘she’ was a man posing as a beautiful woman after the owner found out that the so called ‘woman’ Francis Fryer was actually a famous male actor. All the men in the room start booing and walking out. In panic, Calamity rushes on stage, vowing to give them what they desire, the singer that they are all drooling over: the famous Adelaide Adams (Gale Robbins) who lives in Chicago. The next day Calamity travels to Chicago with a goal of finding Adelaide Adams and getting her to perform in the little town of Deadwood.

Just as the real Adelaide Adams leaves for Europe, her assistant, Katie Brown(Allyn Mc Lerie)poses as Adelaide and performs to the men but something isn't right.

My favorite character was Katie, because she was a kind and a funny, not forgetting to mention a great singer! I though that the film was humorous and exciting. I really enjoyed the songs too.

So would you like to travel back in time to the Wild West and meet Calamity Jane? I suggest you watch this movie, and you’ll be able to find out what happens to Katie. I have to rate this film a 4 star.
