This dark, fabulous modern fairytale positions wicked Maleficent at the centre of the story of how a once-good fairy became the Mistress...

Maleficent was beautiful. From the quality acting to the flawless CG, this film was amazing.

This is a twisted version of sleeping beauty, portraying Maleficent as the protagonist, and the reason she turned bad. Not only that, but the story starts way before sleeping beauty, with Maleficent and King Stephan to be only children. The story spins out into a tale that’s twists and turns are both wonderful and unpredictable.

On the front of the acting, I thought that this film had that as well. There was the innocent character of Aurora immune to the evil world around her, and great, looming maleficent, soured dark by betrayal. The personalities of the characters reflected out on each other revoking changes on all of them throughout the film.

The CG was probably my best part. Only when I was fifteen minutes into the film did I fully realize that the colorful fairy folk were merely pictures. As well as that, the camerawork and lighting were cleverly weaved into the story reflecting the moods of the characters that were in shot.

In conclusion, this is an amazing family film that I recommend to all, it is great to watch and up to scratch in every single way.
