This film is about a monster that suddenly comes out of nowhere into Manhattan, and the storyline follows a group of friends in their journey to escaping. Our filmclub watched this film as an example of a blockbuster movie using the device of 'found footage' to tell a story. This film just proved no matter how high budget and good the special effects are, it still all comes down to the way in which the plot is told and if we can relate to the characters or not. This film didn't work for me as there wasn't enough character development at the beginning, therefore when the twists and turns of the plot unfolded, I couldn't sympathise with the characters.
