Not as satisfying as the previous films but worth a look, mainly because it features the return of Gene Hackman as criminal mastermind...

Before I begin this review, I would like to say that when it comes to the earlier Superman films, I like them well at least the first two. The first one was great, the second was even better and the third one was...odd to say the least. So when I heard that there was a forth in the franchise, I decided to watch this film.Unfortunately my expectations were low as I heard that this is one of the worst comic book movies of all time, that's right, up there with infamous films like Batman And Robin (1997) and Catwoman (2004). So right now you may be thinking what my opinion of this film is. Well if you can't tell by the rating I have given this film, I believe this is one of the worst films I have ever seen, period. This movie centers around the plot that Superman (played by Christopher Reeve) has decided to ban all nuclear weapons for some reason. This causes the birth of a brand new super villain named Nuclear Man.Yes, that is his name. So it is up to Superman to save the day by defeating Nuclear Man once and for all. One of the biggest negatives that this features is that the story itself doesn't make any sense at all. Why would Superman decide to wipe out nuclear weapons for no apparent reason at all. It also doesn't help that the acting is abysmal, even by the great Christopher Reeve as our blue boy scout. Nuclear Man is a awful villain as his design reminds as if Aquaman tried to dress up as Flash Gordon but failed in so many ways. Gene Hackman returns once again as Lex Luthor which his only purpose being in this film is that he creates Nuclear Man.There are many other problems with this film as well like how the writing isn't as good as as the first two Superman films, the effects at the time and today are terrible and the fact that the cinematography makes the film look cheaply made. In my opinion, if I had the power to turn back time like Superman, I would make sure that this film and Superman 3 (1985) never existed. Like I said before, this film is one of the worst films I have ever seen as there is barely anything good to be found in this film. This film was so terrible that the franchise went on a hiatus until 2006 when X-Men (2000) director Brian Singer decided to direct the much better Superman Returns (2006), even if in my opinion that film wasn't that great. Anyways, you now know my opinion on this disaster of a film and I do hope there won't ever be films as bad as this. .
