Skellig (2009)

The film 'Skellig' is a very unique, magnifcent yet at times perplexing , however it's also an oringial and extremely different to other films you may have seen. The film has very super-natural elements and is very realistic. In my opinion the film is amazing, however many others may disagree with me.

The film is about a family of 3 moving into a lovely new home and a new person comes to life but unfortunately an unexpected devasting effect will leave the family feeling destraught and full of misery. Until a magnificent surprise appears and makes there life turn amazing in the end. Michael along the way meets a friend called Mina and a supernatural, wrinkly character called Skelling (one of the main characters in the film.)

The main characters in the film is Skelling, Mina, Michael and his mum and dad. In the film the colours are very dull, gloomy and mysterious. At the start of the film it leaves you feeling very exicted as someone new comes to life, however this changes and the family becomes very unhappy but towards the end of the film there's a surprise which is very heart warming. The camera quality is excellent zooming into different parts to give a clear view of the scence and making some parts blurry which give it more of an effect. The sounds in the film are mostly cheerful and makes you feel happy and in the mood of dancing although this does change when something devasting happens towards the middle of the film.

Overall I think the film was great and suitable to watch during the day or at night. I particularly loved the film because it was very unpredictable but didn't spoil anything to fast and made you want to watch more. It was upsetting, perplexing, mysterious yet also heart warming all at once and is a mixture of emotions. You should defintely watch the film 'Skelling' as it's an Intersting film and worth the watch.
