In this remake of the well-known 1976 Walter Matthau film, Billy Bob Thorton assumes the role of a drunk, cigar-chomping ball player bribed to coach a misfit tween team. (plugged in)
Starring, Billy Bob Thornton as (Morris Buttermaker) Greg Kinnear as (Roy Bullock).
Honestly, this has not been my favourite film but a really we done movie. This film is about a man named Morris or his nickname Buttermaker played by Billy Bob Thornton. This is the remake of the 1976 bad news bears and it is not as good as the original as when revised the performance was not as strong as expected to be but still was very well performed even by the kids! The film goes when the infamous Morris Buttermaker is bribed into helping children who well just can't play baseball but is taught and they become the best around.
I feel like the moral of the story is not about the winning but about how you play, the kids were just not having it they really tried hard and at times they quit. But not for long because Buttermaker's daughter played by (Sammi Kraft) steps in and teaches the others a lesson. Another teen named Kelly played by (Jeffrey Davies) also is one of the best players in the movie. My favourite character was Hooper because he was extremely funny and got an amazing point for the bears. Roy bullock on the other hand playing the other team opposite the bears was the Yankees, Like mostly in films the plot was really seen out because they were the opposing team obviously they played dirty and cheated!
This film was rated (12) which means can be watched but with adult supervision but the language went a little to far especially only because some of use are still first years and swearing should not be heard at our age. I definitely would not class this as a family film but more just a comedy!
I also really liked the soundtrack for this movie because the classical score really went with the movies best scenes.
directed by Richard Linklater I would give it 3/5 stars!
