This for me, is the pinnacle of filmmaking. David Fincher is one of the most decorative and well respected directors of all time, with such hits as fight club and gone girl, I had a hunch that I was gonna enjoy this film, and my gosh did I enjoy it. Every frame is shot perfectly, and just little justifications in each scene makes the film that bit better. The film cleverly depicts the story of Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Savrin who go onto create Facebook when they are in Harvard University. The acting in this is sublime, and the screenplay by the incredible Aron Sorkin is another amazing aspect about this film. Jesse Eisenberg is amazing. He has the look of Zuckerberg about him, and also definitely has the personality. This is the same for Andrew Garfield as Savrin, the co creator of Facebook. Once again, another brilliant performance and it really captivated the audience especially in certain scenes involving both Mark and Eduardo. Justin Timberlake as the creator of Napster, who tries to inevitably shut down the Facebook gives off a breathtaking performance. And I didn't expect that from a musician of that calibre that he can actually act. The orchestral score is beautiful,and keeps the story flowing throughout, with not a dull moment in sight. This is such a heartbreaking story, following the fall out of Zuckerberg and Savrin, and David Fincher captures the raw emotion and heartbreak extremely well, it was very fast paced, and had the correct amount of runtime, clocking in at only 115mins, which is surprising for a Fincher movie. Overall, this film is absolutely gorgeous, from the cinematography to the script to the acting to the directing. This film is the pinnacle of filmmaking! Everyone should take a leaf out of David Fincher's book, and aspire to make incredible movies. Spectacular.
