In short, the film 'Joy' features a young woman surrounded entirely by her family. After growing up following the wrong path within her career as well as her lifestyle, she realises that something needs to be done and she soon comes up with a genius idea (the 'Miracle Mop') which changes her life forever. Set in the 1980s, 'Joy' recalls on the true story of a woman named Joy (played by Jennifer Lawrence) who is the mother of two children living with her two divorced parents, grandmother and her ex-husband. The film starts off by introducing the audience to the main characters along with the subsidiary characters. However, I found the pace at the beginning of the film to be very slow and it did not progress very well. This left me feeling reasonably bored and unsatisfied waiting for the exciting/uplifting scenes to start. On the other hand however, when the film did reach its climatic moment, it was very fulfilling and provided a satisfactory feeling. Overall, I think that this inspiring and feel-good film is definitely worth a watch as it features brilliant actors and actresses and has a great story line that is very easy to follow. I feel that because it is a true story, this definitely adds to the inspirational level of the film and makes it even more enjoyable.
