Remake of John Waters 1980s comedy musical about Tracy, a "pleasantly plump" teen with a strong sense of social justice.

A wonderful musical film

Before watching this film, I knew I was really going to to enjoy it as I had previously danced to one of the songs and loved every second of it. Hairspray is a incredibly sweet film about being yourself and not listening to whatever everyone else thinks. The songs are really well written and there are snaps of comedy throughout the film, making this a pleasure to watch.

My favourite part was when everyone joined together at the end, no one caring about the colour of their skin. Even when the sad bits are shown, Tracy always brings a vibe of happiness to the room. However, some songs do drag on for a while though not to the extent where your sleeping in your chair! The light and setting always match the mood in the air very well and the costumes are really fantastic.

Overall, I truly loved this film and i would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in a film with happiness, laughter and excitement. I loved it!
