Put on your diving mask because this movie makes you swim up to your neck in an ocean of tears, only to be dried up by the sun of happiness.
Meet Sammy, the highly ambitious turtle. Unfortunately, our TURTLEy amazing friend struggles to climb up the wall of the small dent in the ground he was born in, is pecked by seagulls, and falls on his head. Ouch!
This film’s overarching theme is that us humans need to be more friendly to the environment! The way this film projects this message is with the oil tanker that gets shipwrecked and spills its oil, affecting the lives of many creatures. Another example is that the turtles (I say turtles as Sammy now has a friend called Shelly) are in the Amazon when they hear a machine cutting down trees to use its wood.
I shall recommend this film on the foundation of Sammy’s persistency, although there is one scene when Sammy seems to need to come up for air before diving to find his life’s true love.
Coming back to the matter of recommendation, I would recommend this to children of up to 70 years of age, and adults too! This film, however, was a bit boring and repetitive at times, so personally, I think it deserves 4 stars. Good day!
