Synopsis:
Unbreakable is a story shared by two characters. David Dunn, a man from Philadelphia who comes out unharmed as the single survivor of a massive train accident. Then Elijah Price, a mysterious stranger offers David a bizarre explanation as to why he escaped such an accident without a single scratch, an explanation that threatens to change David's family, life and even his understanding of the world forever.
Camera:
Shyamalan's style of shots are quite unique and creative, some examples are when entering a scene by shooting through a window, making me feel as if I was really there, looking through the window. Or when David Dunn was about to finalise his character transformation; at the start of such scene, the camera was shooting through an open window and the wind was moving the curtains, blocking the view adding a lot of tension and building up the atmosphere of that amazing scene.
Story Twist:
The movie is a great character progression until the very end. However, unlike most films that have the twits just before or at the climax of the movie but in this movie the twist is at the end which makes a great ending.
Its a technique that Shyamalan used for the Sixth Sense but in this movie, he takes it to the next level, is like he is giving extra information, background information, it makes everything clearer, it gives us the reason why the story even took place, the Big Bang of this story.
It adds another layer to the story and I loved it.
Sound/Audio and Music:
In my opinion, the sound was on point, for me great audio is when it helps you focus on what's happening on the scene adding depth.
As for the music, it was also very good, very consistent helping to build the atmosphere.
Lightning:
Lighting was also very good and throughout the movie, along with the mise-en-scene, it helped me understand David Dunn's feeling and sympathise with him.
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!!!!
I GUARANTEE YOU WILL LIKE IT.
P.S - Shyamalan is a great movie writer and director.
