I had never seen his films before, so going into it I had no idea what it was about I only knew it did quite well at the box office as the director got the fantastic four job from this. Overall I really enjoyed the film, it was very good and I feel it was realistic whilst having the superhero powers thrown in the mix. The main lead Dane Dehaan I thought was very compelling and really lead the film, following his teenage life from lonely nerd to super peered maniac was very interesting, furthermore as a teenager myself I feels it was insightful into the little things lonely teenagers have to cope with like where to eat your lunch or what party not to go to. Dehaan also showed the superpowers well and showed how they could affect this pwroms who has more problems than we first thought. Out of the rest if the cast my stand put was Micheal B. Jordon and I feel Hollywood agrees with me as this really started his career off. He was the best part to the film for me, his performance was excellent and he really sold the 'high school jock', additionally when the going got tough he stood up to it which I thought was very courageous and showed the audience a different side to his character. I won't give away the ending of the film but I thought it was good but not what I wanted and I felt it ended in a weird place, additionally it was very cgi heavy and as it was made in 2012, these special effects weren't the best but the actors performance mostly made me forget the special effects. Overall very good film, I would definilty recommend to lovers of the superhero film genre and to anyone else who likes to mix reality with fiction.
